FoundPixel wants everyone to be able to browse and buy from this store, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement sets out where we are, what we have done, what still needs work, and how to reach us if you hit a barrier.
We treat accessibility as part of building the shop, not a bolt-on. Our goal is that every visitor can find a product, understand its details, and complete a purchase without needing to ask for help — and that anyone who does need help can reach a person quickly.
We measure ourselves against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance and by Section 508.
foundpixel.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully meet every criterion.
We are being deliberately plain about this. Claiming full conformance without a formal independent audit would not be honest, and it would not help anyone who runs into a problem.
Measures currently in place across the store:
- Semantic structure. Pages use real headings, landmarks, lists and tables so screen readers can navigate them.
- Keyboard access. Navigation, filters, accordions and forms can be reached and operated without a mouse.
- Text alternatives. Product images and meaningful icons carry alt text or accessible labels; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Colour contrast. Body text, buttons and form labels are checked against the 4.5:1 minimum; the gold-on-dark and dark-on-gold combinations used throughout the site meet it.
- Labelled forms. Every field has a visible label, required fields are marked in text as well as colour, and errors are described in words.
- Responsive and zoomable. Layouts reflow to 320px and remain usable at 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- No motion traps. Nothing auto-plays with sound, and there is no flashing content.
We know about the following and are working on them:
- Third-party checkout screens. Payment provider pages are outside our control and may not match our standard. If one blocks you, call us and we will take the order over the phone.
- Older product descriptions. Some imported product copy may lack full alt text or use inconsistent heading levels. We correct these as we review each listing.
- PDF documents. Any PDF we publish may not yet be fully tagged. We will provide an accessible alternative on request.
If you find something not listed here, please tell us — that is how the list gets shorter.
The site is built and tested to work with recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, in combination with common assistive technologies including screen readers, browser zoom, high-contrast modes and keyboard-only navigation.
It may not work reliably on browsers more than three major versions old, or where JavaScript is disabled entirely, because the cart and filters depend on it.
06Technical specification
Accessibility on this site relies on the following technologies working together in your browser:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These are used in line with published standards. Where a component depends on JavaScript, a non-JavaScript route to the same outcome is available by contacting us directly.
07Feedback and assistance
If any part of this site prevents you from doing what you came to do, tell us and we will fix it — and in the meantime we will help you complete what you were trying to do.
We aim to respond to accessibility reports within two business days. Please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using — it helps us reproduce the problem quickly.
This statement is based on our own evaluation of the site, carried out with a combination of automated testing tools, manual keyboard testing and screen-reader spot checks. It has not been verified by an independent third party.
We review this statement whenever we make significant changes to the store, and at least once a year. It was last reviewed on 13 September 2026.
