This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies FoundPixel uses on foundpixel.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. Read it alongside our
Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. On your next visit the site can read it back. Cookies cannot run programs or carry viruses, and they cannot read anything else on your device.
We also use two related technologies: local storage (a larger, longer-lived store in your browser) and session storage (cleared when you close the tab). Where this policy says “cookies”, it covers those too.
FoundPixel uses cookies for four things, and no more:
- Keeping your cart. So the items you add are still there when you move between pages or come back later.
- Keeping you signed in. If you have an account, so you are not asked to log in on every page.
- Remembering small preferences. Such as your wishlist, which is stored in your browser and never sent to us.
- Keeping the site fast and secure. Caching and basic abuse prevention.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent any data collected through them.
The exact set varies with what you do on the site. In normal use it is:
| Name / group | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|
woocommerce_cart_hash woocommerce_items_in_cart | Tells the site your cart has changed so the cart total shown is current. | Strictly necessary | Session |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | Links your browser to your cart and checkout data on our server. | Strictly necessary | 2 days |
wordpress_logged_in_* wordpress_sec_* | Keeps you signed in to your account and protects the session. | Strictly necessary | Session or 14 days if you choose “remember me” |
| wp-settings-* | Remembers interface preferences for signed-in users. | Functional | 1 year |
| fp_wishlist (local storage) | Your saved wishlist. Stays in your browser — it is never transmitted to us. | Functional | Until you clear it |
| Caching cookies | Set by our caching layer so pages load quickly and signed-in users are not served a cached page. | Strictly necessary | Session |
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off through the site, because the shop cannot function without them.
Some cookies are set by services we rely on rather than by us directly:
- Payment providers. When you pay, your card details go straight to the payment processor. They may set cookies to detect fraud and complete the transaction. We never see or store your full card number.
- Font and asset delivery. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which logs the request to serve the file.
These providers act under their own privacy policies. We do not control their cookies and we do not receive advertising data from them.
05Managing and deleting cookies
You are in control. Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies:
- Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings › Privacy
- Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security
- Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions
Clearing your wishlist is simpler still — use the Clear wishlist button on the wishlist page.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working. That is a limitation of how shopping baskets work, not a choice on our part.
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, so we do not currently change our behaviour when we receive one. Since we do not run cross-site advertising trackers, there is little for the signal to switch off.
If we add a service that sets new cookies, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted on our Privacy Policy. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
